Filter Content Using Tags
I have tried several extensions and none are doing what I need.
As my site gets more photo galleries, I'd like to offer the option to have pull-down menus on top to narrow down the search results for visitors, rather than listing all galleries and they scroll.
I am thinking I could use TAGS. It would be great to select one or several to show the galleries that fit that criteria.
YEAR contains 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024
SCHOOL contains 6 local high schools
SPORT contains 24 sports
GENDER is Boys or Girls
Anyone point me in the right direction? I am using the "Event Gallery" Extension to create and display the galleries. I asked the creator and he isn't aware of anything that can do what I'm looking for.

WOW - Do I have everyone stumped?
I can't believe all these experts and no possible options.
Anyone? Is this not possible without custom coding?

Re: Filter Content Using Tags
To do what you require you need to stop using a gallery and create your own database stored images and then the means of filtering and displaying the filtered images from the db. You can do it quite easily with most of the forms extensions,I prefer Fabrik however it has a steep learning curve.

Thanks for this info. I have it on my schedule to look into Fabrik. Unfortunately, Event Gallery allows sales, free, payments, etc all in one nice package. The only missing function is filtering.gws wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 9:28 pmTo do what you require you need to stop using a gallery and create your own database stored images and then the means of filtering and displaying the filtered images from the db. Re: Filter Content Using Tags
This is what my site is using. He already told me it does not have built-in filtering by tags the way I want to do it. It is being considered for future updates, but not currently able.Webdongle wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 3:25 amOn my mobile at the moment so can't test it out but https://www.svenbluege.de/joomla-event- ... ugin-files looks promising.

Thanks for this one. I worked with it for 4 hours and it was not able to do what I was looking to do. Seems my only chance is some custom coding.

Re: Filter Content Using Tags
NO SOLUTION FOUND. After numerous extensions and suggestions, I now believe this is not possible without custom coding. Thanks everyone for the input.

If I understand your question correctly, you might also take a look at: https://extensions.joomla.org/extension ... e-gallery/
This extension has image tagging, tag filters and tags cloud.
I use it for tag-based filtering across the entire collection of a photo gallery site, but can also used for filtering across a specific category.
Works fine and has good support.
Hope it helps.
