Post by rawshan008 » Wed May 08, 2024 3:02 pm

Hello developers

when I take backup joomla 3 and php 7.4.33 5.5.5-10.3.39-MariaDB-0+deb10u2 by akeeba.
when I restored then it show this message.

Warning: session_start(): Failed to read session data: user (path: /var/lib/php/sessions) in /var/www/vhosts/deleoanna.com/libraries/joomla/session/handler/native.php on line 260
Error: Failed to start application: Failed to start the session

Please help me solve this issue.

Save Session Path is not writable on the server.

Your questions seems to be about backing up a Joomla 3 site and restoring it the same site. ....but not about migration from 3.10.x to 5.x.... are you trying to migrate your site to Joomla 5?

Note your system specs are below those required for JOomla 5. PHP 8.1 and Maria DB 10.4 or higher. (Or MYSQL 8.0.x+).
php 7.4.33 5.5.5-10.3.39-MariaDB-0+deb10u2
Kickstart may restore such a site to J5 but that's only because it apparently doesn't check for the server requirements, where the Joomla installer itself does.
