Joomla site down after webhost transfer

Post by wandfmedia » Wed Feb 21, 2024 4:15 am

Hello Joomla Guru's, I'm in dire need of some help here...

In a nutshell, I transferred a joomla site to a new webhost - used a cpanel wizard to create full backup, uploaded it to the new cpanel via filetransfer and assigned to the new host.

Website worked great before but now it is completely stuffed, instead of showing the actual website, its showing a generic casso site. The support chat from the webhost has been less than helpful to say the least.

Does anyone know what has gone wrong, but more importantly how I might fix this? Web, IT and coding is not my forte and I'm well out of my depth on this.

If you need more info, i'm happy to supply (if I know how lol)

Thanks in advance

Does the /administrator/ back-end work ok?

Is "casso" your hosting company?
Could you add index.php behind the URL?
Maybe your new server loads the default index.html from your hosting provider as default.
If so, rename or remove that index.html in the root of your website so that the web server loads Joomla's index.php
